A trio of juveniles have been arrested in connection with a rash of commercial burglaries in Gardnerville last week.
Investigator Greg Rooney identified the three boys, age 14, 15, and 16 and took them into custody in connection with five break-ins.
According to Sgt. Jim Halsey of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Rooney obtained confessions from two of the boys, who identified the third.
The third suspect refused to be interviewed, Halsey said. However, evidence recovered supports the other two boys' stories.
All three of the boys were friends or acquaintances, live in Gardnerville and attend local schools. One of the three has been released to the custody of his parents.
Alcohol and cash was stolen from El Aguila Real Mexican Restaurant, money was taken from the Helping Hands Thrift Store. High Sierra Fellowship Church was entered through an unlocked side door. Nothing was taken but whoever broke in discharged the fire extinguishers inside. Money was taken from Laxague Feed Store after someone entered through an unlocked window.
The case has been forwarded to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
