Through the first weekend of the season, the Douglas baseball team has already taken on two of its chief Sierra League rivals.
The Tigers picked up a shutout win over Damonte Ranch Friday in the Mike Bearman Memorial Preseason Tournament and then suffered a shutout loss to Reno Saturday morning.
It was Reno's Glenn Wallace who kept the Tiger bats at bay Saturday, striking out 10 and walking none.
Douglas managed three hits with Jordan Hadlock belting a double and Tyler Hoelzen and Zack McFadden each collecting a single.
Reno got the bulk of its damage done in the fourth with a 2-0 lead. The Huskies piled up three runs, and then added two more in the fifth to provide the difference.
Douglas heads south for a three-game series in Las Vegas this weekend where the Tigers will face Coronado, Las Vegas and Centennial.
The Tigers open up their home season March 20 against Wooster at 3:30 p.m.
