Golf: Carson Valley Men's Golf Club accepting applications

The Carson Valley Men's Golf Club is accepting membership applications for 2008.

The first tournament is March 23 at the Carson Valley Golf Course and continues with tournaments every Sunday morning until Nov. 9 for a total of 34 tournaments.

There will be an awards banquet for all members after the final tournament. Dues for 2008 are $55, which includes a Northern Nevada Golf Assocation membership for the year. The fee drops to $45 for Carson Valley Golf Club season pass holders.

All tournaments are handicapped and flighted so that everyone has a good chance to win prize money. A variety of tournament types will be conducted, including individual stroke play, better ball, best ball, eclectic, scrambles, a President's Cup and a Club Championship.

Applications are available at the Carson Valley Golf Course Pro Shop, 1027 Riverview Drive in Gardnerville.
