The 13th annual Savor the Flavor fundraiser on March 8 at Genoa Lakes Golf Resort raised over $22,000 that will go back into the community.

Soroptimist International publicity chair Bronwyn Mason and event chairperson Brenda Cristanelli confirmed the event's success by noting the 280-plus attendees left laughing, smiling and promising to do it again next year.

"We wish to thank everyone who attended the event, sampled wines from 36 wineries and tasted the broad range of food provided by ten restaurants and eateries. The silent auction had 60 items generously donated by the business community," stated Rosann Turigliatto, this year's president of Soroptimist International Carson Valley. "We could not have hosted this event were it not for our many sponsors, who generously provided their services and time to make this event a success this year."

Thanks to our sponsors including Genoa Lakes Golf Resort; restaurants, Bella Vita Catering, Café Girasole, David Walley's, Genoa Lakes Golf Club-Antoci's, Indigo, Killer Salsa, Sierra Nevada Trading Co., Sweetie Pies, Two Guys From Italy and Wasabi's; wine distributors, Capital Beverage, Southern Wine and Spirits; Megabucks prize sponsor Carson Valley Inn, our program printer R&S Optimum Offset, our banners provider Fast Signs of Carson City, Aloha Discount Wine and Liquors for making the wine available for purchase at the event and program sponsors Accolades Trophies, Artisans International Gallery, Body Language, Carson Valley Dental, Carson Valley Mortgage, Charles Schwab, Cinderlight Construction, Corley Ranch, Countryside Bride, Curves of Minden, CruiseScape Travel, Douglas Disposal, Gourmet Sewing Company, Herbig Family Medicine, Guild Mortgage, Minden Montessori, Douglas County Commissioner and Vice-Chairman Nancy McDermid, Julie Merrill of Farmer's Insurance, Nevada State Bank of Minden, Nevada Wordsmith, Pacific Crest Mortgage, Studio Vogue, Valley Golf Shop, Verus Construction, and Walmart Supercenter.

A final thank-you to musicians Martin and Vargas who provided their talent and entertained us with their Mediterranean blend of Spanish and flamenco guitar. It was a great addition to the event.
