Vail Resorts, Inc., parent company of Heavenly Mountain Resort, revealed its latest season pass offer on Tuesday, an unrestricted and unlimited pass good at five resorts for the 2008-09 season. The "Epic Season Pass" is good at Heavenly as well as Colorado resorts Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone for $579.

The pass is $279 for children (5-12) and is on sale through Nov. 15.

"We designed the new Epic Season Pass program to reward our most loyal guests and to bring greater excitement to the sports of skiing and snowboarding," said Rob Katz, chief executive officer of Vail Resorts. "It is a groundbreaking initiative that will completely change how our guests experience their ski and snowboard vacations."

The Heavenly Flyer, a 3,300-foot zip line, situated at nearly 10,000 feet on an exposed ridge, opened to the public at Heavenly on Feb. 29.

"This is the first zip line of its kind," said Russ Pecoraro, Heavenly's communications director.

Conditions permitting, the Heavenly Flyer is open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rides are $30 ($20 for season pass holders) but lift tickets and gondola sightseeing tickets are sold separately. The zip line is the longest of its kind in the continental United States.
