Internet auctions turn into business

Auction Away, an eBay sales assist store, is now open in Minden.

Items can be dropped off at the store or picked up at customers' homes.

"We photograph, describe and list your items on our eBay site," said owners Joe and Cecilia Radzvilowicz. "We package and ship after the sale, collect funds from the buyer, pay you, your cause or your charity."

Radzvilowicz said individual customers and groups keep 65 percent of the sale price. Nonprofit groups keep 70 percent of the sale price as a donation and tax deduction.

Auction Away also buys items for cash up front.

"Don't waste beautiful days having a garage sale," said Radzvilowicz. "Don't wonder what to do with those unwanted gifts. Clean out the clutter in your life."

New tanning salon and fashion store in Minden

Minden has a new tanning salon and clothing store, Sunsational Fashion & Tanning, offering tanning booths, clothing, bathing suits, accessories, tanning and skin care products.

Owners Rhonda and Mark Dobson have operated a similar salon in South Lake Tahoe for seven years.

"We have won Best of Tahoe the past seven years," said Dobson. "We are very knowledgeable in the tanning business and are Smart Tan certified."

Located at 1659 Highway 395 in Suite B, Sunsational Fashions & Tanning will host its grand opening April 26. Regular store hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Call 782-2552 for more information.
