Two people were hurt in an Easter afternoon accident at Highway 88 and Mottsville Lane.

The accident occurred at 1:25 p.m. when a red 2001 Ford F-150 pickup entered the intersection travelling north on Highway 88, failed to stop for the traffic signal and collided with the side of a van containing six people traveling east on Mottsville.

The 1997 Chevrolet Astro van was driven by a Carson City man.

An 8-year-old girl in the vehicle was taken by Care Flight helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the pickup was driven by Arthur Nemirow, 55, who was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal. Nemirow reported he was hurt, but was not transported from the scene of the accident.
