Stateline Avenue is closed while the Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad examines a suspicious suitcase left near the planters at Harvey's Casino.

The suitcase was reported by security officers at about 10:30 a.m. between the railing and the planter on Stateline.

Described as two feet by 18 inches and 8 inches thick, the suitcase was partially unzipped, according to Sgt. Jim Halsey

Bomb squad members plan to use fiber optics to look inside the bag.

Highway 50 is open, but the sidewalk near the package has been cordoned off.
