The public is invited to the National Law Enforcement Week open house 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The East Fork Fire & Paramedic districts and the Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad also will display equipment.
"We will have numerous demonstrations and informational displays for you and your family to enjoy," said Sheriff Ron Pierini.
A flag ceremony is at 5:30 p.m. to honor officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty throughout the United States.
Visitors can tour the sheriff's office including the jail and evidence-processing lab.
Officers will demonstrate a computerized firearms accuracy training system, use of force/Taser demonstration and the sheriff's K-9 unit.
The sheriff's office is at 1625 Eighth St. in Minden at the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center.
Free hot dogs and beverages will be served.
