Smoke from the 80-acre Como fire could be seen from Carson Valley this afternoon.
According to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center, the fire is located 7 miles southeast of Dayton at Como Mine and Dayton Valley roads.
No homes are threatened in the fire, which is burning in cheatgrass, sagebrush and pinon-juniper.
About 101 firefighters are battling the blaze, including three handcrews, three helicopters and a water tender.
