Today kicks off the second week of filing for political office in Douglas County. According to the County Clerk's Web site, there still isn't a race for school board and no one else has filed for commissioner. Anyone who wants to run for public office has until 5 p.m. Friday to file.
A race has developed in the Gardnerville Ranchos for one of the two seats up for election there. Incumbents Cade Baligad and Bev Page have filed for re-election. Also filing is David Bourne, who lives on Rancho Road.
This week is going to start off cool, but it will end up being very warm, according to the National Weather Service. Today the high will barely crack 65, but then it will shoot up until it cracks 90 by the end of the week. I think I'm safe in saying that's as warm as it has been since last fall.
