Two Arizona men were arrested Wednesday on Highway 395 in Bridgeport after officers discovered cocaine when their vehicle was searched in a traffic stop.
An officer stopped the vehicle for speeding at 3:12 p.m.
The driver, Jesus Sandoval, 30, of Maricopa, Ariz., did not have a valid driver's license, also a violation.
Officers discovered two small packages of a powdery white substance determined to be cocaine under the rear passenger seat.
Deputies said the cocaine belonged to passenger Jose Luque, 26, also of Maricopa. No other drugs turned up in a search by the K-9 unit.
Both men were booked at Mono County Jail in Bridgeport. Sandoval was released with a citation and Luque remains in custody, according to the Mono County Sheriff's Office.
The case has been forwarded to the district attorney's office.
