Minden-Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 hosted their 24th annual Law and Order Night award presentations May 2 at St. Gall Pastoral Center. Honors were awarded in several categories including, front row, Undersheriff Paul Howell, service award, new report/records tracking; Explorer James Spencer, cadet of the year; Correctional Officer James Schmalz, corrections officer of the year; middle row, Bill Harding, Citizen Patrol officer of the year; jail Sgt. Bernadette Smith, service award, report/records jail tracking system; Tammy Morris, juvenile probation officer of the year; jail deputies John Munk and Kai Weaver, service awards, reports/records jail tracking system; Sheriff Ron Pierini; patrol Deputy Nadine Chrzanowski, service award, coordinator of alcohol sales compliance team; Nancy Fife, mounted posse member of the year; Kirt Deitrick and Cirra Woods, public safety dispatch awards; back row, Detective Ron Elges, investigator of the year; Jim Peterson, juvenile detention officer of the year; Sheriff's Advisory Council member Suzy Stockdale, volunteer service award; Capt. Mike Biaggini, service award, supplemental homicide investigation; traffic Deputy Ron Skibinski, service award, implementation of new traffic cite and report writing; Deputy Ron Miller, patrolman of the year; Victor Gavin, reserve deputy of the year.
