Carson Valley Kiwanis and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a car seat inspection at the new Station 12 on Sunridge Drive this weekend. The events is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. No child seat enforcement will be done at the check, where officers will show parents how to install their seats. If you need a seat and cannot afford one, one will be provided to you, but they would prefer a $40 donation to defray the cost of the seat. For more information, contact Capt. Mike Biaggini at 782-6250.

There's lots of things coming up in the next month that we're gearing up for now and a big one is graduation. We're looking for photos from those homeschooled kids who are wrapping up their education this year for our Salute to Seniors. Anyone interested in participating should contact R-C photographer Shannon Litz at 782-5121.

Even the National Weather Service got tired of saying it's going to be hot this weekend. Expect a high today of 89 degrees and then it's up into the 90s for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I'd say it's going to cool off on Tuesday, but why would sunny weather behave any better than stormy.
