Registered nurse Lori Salvador won the Northern Nevada Nurses of Achievement Award for Rural Nursing on May 9.
Nominated by Christine O'Farrell, Carson Valley Medical Center's director of clinical services, and her peers at the medical center, Salvador was recognized for her dedication to open the medical center's infusion center and for her determination that helps maintain the department's outstanding patient satisfaction scores.
Salvador's work in creating the infusion center made a difference to patients who might have to drive into Carson City or Reno for infusion services such as chemotherapy, hydration therapy and intravenous antibiotics.
Salvador is active in the community as an advocate of nursing profession and shares her enthusiasm with students in Douglas County.
