Two people were killed Friday afternoon in a head-collision on Highway 395 south of Ray May Way near Pineview Estates.
Douglas County Undersheriff Paul Howell said the victims were in a classic Pontiac and headed north on Highway 395 when the accident occurred at 4:45 p.m.
Their vehicle collided with a silver Chevrolet pickup truck with California plates headed south. Howell said the accident was a head-on, but there was broadside damage to a vehicle.
The truck driver was taken by helicopter to Reno for treatment.
He said victims would not be identified pending notification of next of kin.
He said officers were still at the scene investigating what happened.
Traffic was flowing in both directions but alternating between north and south lanes.
