The R-C Morning Report

Since promotional ads have begun to appear within the pages of the paper, I guess that makes it officially okay to talk about it.

In about two weeks, we'll be launching a re-design of our Web site.

We've been given a working template to play around with in the days leading up to the launch, and I can honestly say it will be a vast improvement over our current site.

Aside from a much-needed graphical update, the new site should be much easier to navigate for you the reader.

We're also introducing substantial community interactive features so that you will be able to post stories, photos and videos of your own right from your home.

I think that's about all I can give you right now without totally blowing the lid on the whole thing, but be sure that more details will follow in the coming days.

This is something we're very excited about and we hope all of you will be excited to get involved as well.

It would appear we're out of the woods in terms of the gloomy weather. With clear skies today and temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s, we should be in for a beautiful weekend. So make sure to get outside these next couple of days and make up for last week's dreary holiday.

If you're looking for ways to get outside, I'll again suggest the Mountain Madness event, with the showcase powder puff football game at 6 p.m., at the high school tonight. Then the Kids' Fishing Derby will be Saturday and Sunday all day at Lampe Park.

Not really, but this should be my last morning report for a while. Kurt is expected back on Monday and I'll go back where I belong. Thanks for bearing with me!
