Saturday night's storm brought about .15 inches of rain to eastern parts of the Valley and up to a half inch on the west side.
Chain controls are in effect over both Highway 50, where chains or four-wheel drive are required to get over Echo Summit, and Highway 88, where the CHP is requiring chains.
The National Weather Service is forecasting more of the same in a special statement issued this morning. A colder storm is expected to hit Monday afternoon, with snow levels dropping from 6,500 feet to the valley floors late Monday night. Forecasters aren't quite sure where the storm will hit. It could go north, or it could head right for Carson Valley.
