Douglas Animal Welfare Group hosts its first animal boutique, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, in front of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

The new Bow-Wow Boutique merchandise is donated by Linda Vokota, owner of Critter Junction. Coats, booties, clothing, leashes, choke chains and harnesses will be sold for 75 percent off the original price. Lighted safety collars and leashes, jogging leashes, heated beds, lamb's wool harnesses, goggles and life jackets will be available on a limited basis.

Bring a camera, pets and the family for a photo with Santa. Proceeds of the sale will be used by DAWG, a nonprofit group of volunteers who work to better the lives of animals in Douglas County by improving adoptability. Information about DAWG at www.dawgrescue.com
