The theme of this year's annual Parade of Lights is "Old Fashioned Holiday," according to the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority.
Entries into the Dec. 6 parade, which typically draws thousands of residents and visitors to downtown Gardnerville and Minden, are due Nov. 20.
Local businesses, community organizations and individuals enter illuminated floats, antique cars, animals, bands, and other creative objects into this event in the hopes of capturing a coveted award in one of the following categories: youth service club-nonprofit, county government, best theme/creative, best business or best overall.
The event originated 13 years ago with the purpose of providing family entertainment for Carson Valley residents.
Entry forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Authority at 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville, Nevada. Entry deadline is Nov. 20. For more information call the chamber office at 782-8144.
