Man killed in Tahoe accident

A 54-year-old Carson City man died from injuries he received in a head-on collision on Highway 50 near Logan Creek on Friday night.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 11 p.m., when David Fried crossed the centerline in his 2004 Dodge Neon while traveling east.

The Neon collided with a westbound 2009 Saturn sport utility vehicle driven by 56-year-old Duane Ward of Las Vegas. Ward's wife, Gabriele, 49, received minor injuries in the accident.

Fried sustained serious injuries in the accident. Both he and Gabriele Ward were flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Fried died over the weekend, according to Trooper Chuck Allen of the NHP.
