Youth from three area churches will participate in Ignite Commute to raise money and awareness for the "invisible children" of Uganda on Nov. 15.
About 100 students from Capital Christian Center, Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, and Carson Valley Christian Center will meet 2:30 p.m. at Fuji Park in Carson City to begin a six-mile walk representing the daily commute some Ugandan children make so they aren't kidnapped for a rebel army.
The walk will be followed by a barbecue at 5:30 p.m. and worship and prayer at 7 p.m. at Carson Valley Christian Center.
Monetary donations may be mailed or delivered to CVC, Invisible Children Fund, 1095 Stephanie Way, Minden, NV 89423. Donations of water or snacks may be dropped off at the church. To participate in the event, contact Jeremy Malekos at Jeremy@cvcwired.com or at the CVC office, 267-0151. Information at www.invisiblechildren.com
