Girls night out

Carson Valley Middle School presents Girls Night Out, an evening of music, shopping and socializing, 6-9:30 p.m. today, at the Carson Valley Inn.

Cost is $5 at the door with proceeds benefiting the Student Welfare Program at Carson Valley Middle School. Purchase a T-shirt for $25 to be eligible for a raffle prize.

Vendors include Body Shop, Longaberger, Mary Kay, Quail Country Gems, Creative Memories, Party Lite, Lia Sophia and Cadillac Cowgirl Co. Free baby-sitting offered by National Junior Honor Society students at CVMS from 6-10 p.m.

Library book sale

The Douglas County Public Library's annual book sale is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. Hundreds of used books, audio books, children's books, videos, software and music available.

A preview for the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library is 5-8 p.m. today. Become a member at the door to save 10 percent. All items half price, 9 a.m. to noon Monday. Information at douglas.lib.nv.us or 782-9841.


Community bingo

Young at Heart community bingo is Sunday at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Doors open at noon, early bird games start at 1 p.m. Regular games start at 1:30 p.m. Coffee and popcorn provided. Snack bar open. Information, 783-6455.


Craft vendors wanted

Kiwanis Turkey Bingo

Carson Valley Kiwanis Club is hosting turkey bingo Nov. 22 at the CVIC Hall in Minden. First session is 3 p.m., second at 6 p.m. Refreshments available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Carson Valley organizations. Information, Tom Peters, 781-8924.


Alpine Turkey Bingo

Turkey bingo to benefit Alpine Children's Center, 6-9 p.m. Nov. 22 at Turtle Rock Park. Bingo prizes are turkeys with a special Thanksgiving basket prize for blackout bingo.
