The Douglas County Public Library's annual book sale is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. Hundreds of used books, audio books, children's books, videos, software and music are available.
A preview for the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library is 5-8 p.m. Friday. Become a member at the door to save 10 percent. All items half price, 9 a.m. to noon Monday.
There are different levels of membership for Friends of the Library: an individual membership is $15 per year, students and seniors 60-plus are $5 per year and family membership is $20 per year. Besides helping raise money for library programs, Friends of the Library are entitled to first choice and discounts on books and items at the book sale.
The book sale is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the library. Proceeds support library-sponsored events such as the summer reading program and the gingerbread house-making party in December. Information at douglas.lib.nv.us or 782-9841.
