Indian Hills General Improvement District trustees meet 6 p.m. tonight to consider a contract with Fernley resident Jim Taylor to be the next district manager. Taylor's got extensive utility experience in Alaska. The meeting's to be held at the district offices next door to James Lee Park.

A couple accused of burglarizing a martial arts studio while the martial artist was there are scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court this morning. Amanda and Matthew Golden were arrested on Oct. 15 after the owner of the studio, which had been burgled before, decided to wait for them.

The high temperatures are beginning their long slide into winter. Today will be sunny and relatively balmy, with a high of 67 degrees. But the highs are expected to drop 14 degrees by next Sunday. There isn't any moisture in the forecast.
