Kiwanis bike drive
Donate used bicycles, tricycles, wagons or scooters in good condition to the Kiwanis Club of Gardnerville-Minden. Drop-off sites are at the Town of Gardnerville maintenance yard at 1369 Highway 395 or at the Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District office, 931 Mitch Drive. Project Santa
Project Santa Claus accepts donations of good quality winter clothing, unwrapped new toys, books and games. Food closet donations

Angel Trees
Sponsor a child at Christmas by choosing a name off a Project Santa sponsored Angel Tree at Taylor-York Salon, 1625 Highway 395, Minden, and in Gardnerville at Sharkey's Casino, Raley's, R & T Cleaners, Scolari's, Carson Valley Medical Center, 1107 Highway 395 and at the Topaz Lodge, 1979 Highway 395. Food drive
Douglas Disposal is sponsoring its 14th annual food drive to benefit Carson Valley Community Food Closet. Flyers will be distributed Dec. 1-5 asking customers to fill a plastic grocery bag and place it next to their trash containers for the Dec. 8-12 pick-up. Donations may also be delivered to Douglas Disposal at 1653 N. Lucerne St., Suite A in Minden Village. Information, 782-3711.
Soroptimist grants
Soroptimist International of Carson Valley seeks applicants to apply by Monday for three of its women's award programs. Senior excursions
Douglas County Senior Services sponsors a holiday shopping trip to Meadowood Mall in Reno on Dec. 4. Bus departs from the senior center at 9 a.m. and returns around 4 p.m. Bring a bag lunch or purchase lunch at the food court at the mall. Cost for the trip is $10. Call the senior center to make a reservation.
The Holiday Ice Spectacular at the Eldorado Hotel and Casino is Dec. 14. The $50 cost for the excursion includes transportation, lunch in the Chef's Buffet and the show. Make reservations at the senior center by Wednesday at 783-6455.
