The Douglas High girls' golf team continued to roll Tuesday afternoon, winning its home tournament by 57 strokes at Genoa Lakes.
The Tigers bested their own state record set last week at Wolf Run by five strokes, finishing with a team total 314 at Genoa.
Manogue was second at 371, Damonte Ranch was third at 375, South Tahoe followed with 381 and Carson came in with a 385. Galena, Fallon and Wooster rounded out the tournament in order.
Tiger sophomore Bethany Wurster flirted with a state record, coming within a stroke of tying the all-time individual low score at 66 to win the individual medal.
"Bethany was 5 under through 11 holes but managed a double bogie on the par-3 12th," Douglas coach Steve Gustafson said. "She regained momentum, birdied the 15 and chipped in for eagle on the 18th.
"Overall, she was the highlight of the tournament, shooting a 32 on the front and a 34 on the back."
Wurster was hardly Douglas' only bright spot of the day. Senior Michele Nikkels came up with a personal best 78 to take second overall.
"Michele was the big surprise," Gustafson said. "After shooting an excellent score last week, she managed to set a personal best. She was very consistent, carding 10 pars on the day and she birdied the par-4 15th.
Senior Shelby Louie tied for fourth overall with an 81, junior Heather Henderson shot an 89 to take seventh and junior Annika Crowe shot a 124 for Douglas.
"Shelby did some great things today," Gustafson said. "She struggled a big on a couple holes, but made up those strokes with a birdie on the par-3 sixth. Heather would have one bad hole and then one great hole. She shot even on the par-3s and had a great birdie on No. 8.
"Annika struggled a bit on the front but she settled down and managed to have a good back nine. I see good things for her, she has gained a lot of experience this season."
