Scarecrow festival

Student day

Historic Carson Valley characters present their stories at Senior-Student Day, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

Carson Valley Sertoma Community Bingo is Saturday at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. The Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club dance, silent auction and raffle is 7-10 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Candlelight vigil

As part of October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, the Purple Ribbon Coalition presents the 11th annual Candlelight Vigil, 6 p.m. Monday at Heritage Park in Gardnerville.
