Local photographers turned a challenging theme " contrasts " into a wide-ranging collection of images, with Anne Bothwell taking the first place ribbon for September.
Her photo of a pair of wine goblets, one with white wine the other with red wine, caught the judge's eyes. She titled the image "Still Life 2" and to the amusement of fellow photographers admitted the cupboard was bare and she had to substitute pomegranate juice for the red wine.
Second place went to Tamyra Crossley, whose "Coming to Terms" depicted a contrast in generations. It showed a teenage boy laden with chains dangling from his belt and around his neck and sporting a Mohawk haircut shaking hands with an older cowboy.
A picture of shadows of pottery cast on a wall of his home won third place for Ray Moore He titled his shot "Wall Shadows."
The winning art will be displayed in the lobby of the Douglas County Library.
