The Douglas High girls' golf team put the wraps on its second consecutive Sierra League title Tuesday afternoon in Fallon.
The Tigers carded a team score of 322 to win the tournament by 34 strokes over second-place Manogue and sophomore Bethany Wurster won her fifth out of six tournaments this season with a 1-under 71.
"Bethany hit some really great drives today," Douglas coach Steve Gustafson said. "She missed a few birdie attempts, because the greens were a lot slower than we are used to. Nonetheless, she impressed a lot of people."
Douglas' Shelby Louie shot an 82, Michele Nikkels came in with an 84, Heather Henderson had an 85 and Annika Crowe had a 114.
"Michele has been working really hard on her chipping all week and it has paid off," Gustafson said. "Shelby played well. She had a great front nine and then struggled on the No. 17, hitting her tee shot out of bounds, but she made up for it on the 18th with birdie.
"Heather was very long off the tee, out-driving her competition by a good 30 yards on most holes, couple birdies and a couple bogies. That's Heather's game.
"Annika really came alive this week. She improved 10 shots from last week on a course she's never played. She worked hard all week with her drives and putting and it really paid off."
Douglas ran its streak of tournament wins in Northern Nevada to 14 and enters next week's Northern 4A Regional championships in Elko as the favorite.
The Tigers' closest competition should come from High Desert League champion Spanish Springs. The Cougars still come in at a season-total 249 strokes behind the Tigers, which works out to about a 42-stroke difference per tournament.
Wurster tees off at 11 a.m., Louie will go at 11:09 a.m., Henderson at 11:18 a.m., 11:27 a.m., Nikkels at 12:21 p.m. and Crowe at 12:30 p.m.
