The Carson Valley Medical Center offers flu vaccination clinics 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 18 for Medicare and self-pay patients with additional self-pay clinics 8-10 a.m. Oct. 22 and Oct. 29. No appointments necessary.
Vaccinations may be received as either a shot or as nasal spray. The flu shot, which is an inactivated (containing killed virus) vaccine, is administered by needle in the arm. The cost for the shot is $25 and is available for adults 18 and older.
The flu mist nasal spray is made with live weakened flu viruses that do not cause the flu. Flu mist is $40 and is available for adults 18-50.
