Comic murder mystery opens tonight

"The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" is performed at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, 701 Long Valley Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Performances are 7 p.m. today and Saturday and Oct. 17 and 18 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 19.

The comic murder mystery takes place during the blizzard of the century and the characters encounter homicidal maniacs, electrical blackouts and secret passages as they untangle the identity of the Stage Door Slasher.

"The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" was written by John Bishop and ran both on and off Broadway. The All-City production is directed by Rich Garrett and features drama students from Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School and Douglas High School.

Tickets are $10 and include dessert and beverages. Desserts will be served by leadership students from Pau-Wa-Lu. Information at rgarrett@dcsd.k12.nv.us or 265-6100.
