Barbershop quartets show

The Douglas County Senior Center hosts a trip to attend the "Barbershop Through the Years" concert presented by the Chorus of the Comstock on Oct. 25. The trip starts with dinner at the Carson City Nugget buffet followed by the 7 p.m. concert.

Chorus of the Comstock and Let it Ride Quartet will be featured along with Carson High Choral Groups and other area quartets at the Carson City Community Center.

Cost of the excursion is $30 and includes transportation, dinner and a ticket for the concert. Make reservations by today at the Douglas County Senior Center, 783-6455.

Apple Hill trip

The Douglas County Senior Center sponsors an autumn shopping trip to Apple Hill which departs the senior center at 8 a.m. and returns about 4:30 p.m. Oct. 16.

Apple Hill features bake shops, cider mills, wine tasting, crafts, treats at Boa Vista Orchards, High Hill Ranch, The Fudge Factory Farm and Primus Vineyards.

Bring a bag lunch, or purchase lunch at one of several stops. Cost of the excursion is $20 with optional fees of $5 for wine tasting at Primus Vineyards or $4 for a walking tour and hay ride at High Hill Ranch.
