The Weather Service has upped the chance of snow on Friday to 60 percent, just not much snow. We could see lake effect snows off Lake Tahoe, but there's a whole other bunch of factors that will have to line up before that happens. The highs are going to drop into the 40s by Saturday, according to forecasters. In any case, it's time to shut off the water.
Today's high will work to get into the 60s with a west wind 15-20 mph and gusts of up to 30 mph. Tonight the low drop below freezing. The lows will stay in the cellar for at least the next four days before they climb back up on Tuesday night. Maybe we'll finally kill off some of the rabbitbrush.
About 60 people turned out for the Business Council of Douglas County's town hall meeting on the county's two bond questions. We'll have a full report in Friday's edition. Thanks to Renea Louie for everything she's done in this election cycle, including organizing both forums and the critical issues conference. She's come through with great material every time.
