Chains or snowtires are being required on Kingsbury Grade as of 10:35 a.m. Douglas County deputies reported they closed down Tramway due to snow and ice.

Deputies reported a snowplow lifted a manhole cover off the highway, leaving a hole.

Snow has been falling in Gardnerville since 8 a.m. While the pavement is wet, there has been no accumulation on the ground.

Deputies described Tramway, near the top of the Grade as "an ice skating rink."

The Nevada Department of Transportation is running snow plows to keep Kingsbury open.

Western Nevada is under a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. The National Weather Service is reporting that Carson City and Carson Valley will see snow showers until they taper off this afternoon.
