After escaping with a one-goal win over Manogue in Reno earlier this season, the Douglas girls' soccer team might have come in to Tuesday night's matchup with the Miners expecting another close game.

That didn't end up being the case.

Douglas scored four goals in a six-minute span on its way to a dominating 8-0 win over the Miners in Minden.

Ally Freitas scored three goals, Tia Lyons added two and Katie Dry, Natalie Freitas and CJ Baumgartner each added one for the Tigers in the win.

Defensively, Douglas posted the shutout based on the strong play of Mackenzie Cauley, Sage Lyons, Shannon Hubbard, Cora Moody, Kelsey Conklin, Shelby Eisele and Sierra Bertolone-Smith.

Brianna Randall got the start in net for the Tigers but didn't have to make a save. Christy Harvey took over in the second half and posted four saves, including a nice stop at point-blank range in the 65th minute to preserve the shutout.

Dry got Douglas on the board first with a blazing run down the right side that she completed with a nice crossing shot to beat the Manogue keeper.

Ally Freitas scored four minutes later another shot from outside and again less than a minute later on a header.

Tia Lyons then took over with goals in the 19th and 30th minutes and Baumgartner scored in the 34th minute on a shot up the middle.

Ally Freitas scored in the 58th minue and Natalie Freitas completed the scoring in the game with another shot from outside in the 64th minute.

Douglas also got solid play from its midfield of Kyra Barth, Dany Heidt and Alex Laing and from forward Michelle Day.
