Video of burglary released

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating two burglaries which occurred in September at Jiffy Lubes in Minden and Gardnerville.

The first burglary occurred Sept. 1 at the Minden Jiffy Lube, 1766 Highway 395 during daylight hours. The crime was captured on video surveillance and the sheriff's office is seeking help in identifying the suspect.

Three weeks later, on Sept. 22, a burglary took place during the evening hours at the Gardnerville Jiffy Lube, 1293 Highway 395.

Investigators have not said disclosed how much money was taken.

"With the economy the way it is, we're seeing more of these," said sheriff's Investigator Jeff Schemenauer. "But the burglars are looking at prison terms for a $200 robbery."

Secret Witness is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the suspects.

Anonymity is assured and payment will be made in any manner the caller prefers.
