A funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Calif., for Lola Prather, 81, who died Oct. 13, 2008 in Gardnerville.

Born Oct. 10, 1927, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Caton Lucius and Elsie Milam, she was an old-fashioned homemaker who enjoyed cooking sewing, and creating crafts.

Mrs. Prather was a resident of Carson City for the past 2 1/2 years, moving here from Upland, Calif., where she had lived for many years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in the PTA, while her children were in school.

Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Prather, who died May 3, 2002, and a brother, Jay Milam.

She is survived by sons William Lee Prather Jr. of Burbank, Calif., Rex Steven (Carmen) Prather of Moss Beach, Calif., Jim (Valerie) Prather of Gardnerville and a daughter, Janis (Chris) Boyer of Las Vegas; brothers Harvey Don (Ada) Milam of La Cresenta, Calif., Nyle (Hahn) Milam of Altadena, Calif., Gary (Gayle) Milam of Tujunga, Calif.; sister Rev. Betty Jones of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Burial at Forest Lawn will follow the service.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with her final arrangements.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday in Kansas for former Carson Valley resident Donna L. TenBroeck, 81, who died of cancer Oct. 13, 2008.

Born Aug. 27, 1927, in Burgess, Mo. to Frank and Lucille Fields Lesjack, Mrs. TenBroeck was raised in Frontenac, Kan. She married James S. TenBroeck on June 18, 1978. The moved to Nevada in the late 1980s, where they lived in Minden, then Gardnerville and finally Genoa.

Mrs. TenBroeck enjoyed painting and exhibited her art in the area.

She is survived by son Donald L. Barrand of Lenexa, Kan.; daughter Christie Rae Curtis of Lawrence, Kan.; and two grandchildren Jessica and Jeffrey.

The service will be at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence.
