Increase in clients at food closet

September was a busy month for the Carson Valley Community Food Closet showing a 35 percent increase in the clients served. We are requesting community support to bridge any future gaps. Please bring your extra canned goods and non-perishables to the food closet, 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville.

We would like to thank the following for their contributions (in pounds): Soroptimists (114), Douglas County Public Library (96), Mike Smith (240), Pat Cardinal, farmers market (260), Weight Watchers (147), Spirit Fest (195), Sertoma (10), Coventry Cross (32), Rite Aid (34), Russell's Mercantile (146), Reno Air Races (114), George Winston's Concert (28), Karen (7), Lynne (335), AVID (155), St. Gall Catholic Church (521), and Pat White (35).

Regular grocery contributors: Raley's, Scolari's, Smith's, Costco, Trader Joes, Starbucks, Pony Expresso, Shell Country Store and Vanity Bakery. In addition we would like to thank our local gardeners for donations of fruit and vegetables.
