Acoustic jam at Eddy Street Books
Local musicians are invited for an acoustic jam, 2:30 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the Eddy Street Book Exchange. Musicians of any acoustic instrument of any level of experience or those who don't play but want to sing along are welcome. Carson Valley Inn entertainment
Naked City appears through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.
Naked City is Jo and Tony Hoover whose repertoire includes popular music from the '50s to current hits. The Hoovers are vocalists who place bass, guitar, keyboards and percussion.
The Fake Four take the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and play until Nov. 2. The Fake Four cover music from the '50s, '60s and '70s by Elvis, Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, the Beatles, Beach Boys, the Doors, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.
n Monday Night Football features sports viewing on giant plasma screens, draft beer and snack specials and drawings for prizes.

Rhymers Rodeer returns Nov. 7-8
A generous dose of cowboy poetry and some old-time cowboy piano tunes will be featured at the 21st Annual Rhymers Rodeer in the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom on Nov. 7 and 8.
The event features a cocktail show, an open mic session for all comers and a dinner show. Performers include poets Jim and Karen Ross, Jim King and Ross Knox and Dave Bourne on piano. Shows will be hosted and emceed by McAvoy Layne in the character of Mark Twain.
Friday's show is $25 with no-host cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday's show is $50 with no-host cocktails at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:15 p.m. and show at 7:45 p.m. An open mic session is 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. All performances are non-smoking.
