Director of Senior Services Waren Betino resigned his position last week.

Community Services Director Scott Morgan confirmed Bottino left.

"We miss him and thank him for his services," Morgan said.

Bottino said Friday that he resigned because he wanted to spend more time with his family.

The 50-year-old Minden resident is married with two children.

He's worked for Douglas County for 11 years starting with the parks and recreation department and then taking over as director of senior services.

In addition to running the senior center, Betino was also responsible for operating Douglas Area Rural Transport.

Betino, who is originally from the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, worked for the City of Lompoc, Calif., and in the parks and recreation department of Conejo, near Thousand Oaks, Calif.
