The R-C Morning Report

I had no idea when I wrote that some people refer to the Indian Hills General Improvement District board of trustees meetings as fight night that an actual altercation was going to occur. The incident occurred Monday night at a closed session to discuss litigation and involved Bill Eisele and Brian Patrick. I talked to both men on Tuesday evening. The men were involved in an argument, when Eisele said Patrick stood up. Eisele said he felt threatened, and pushed Patrick away. Patrick said he struck his head on the wall and lost consciousness, something Eisele disagrees happened. Eisele told me he was sorry it happened. As of last night, no sheriff's report had been filed.

We had two bodies reported Tuesday morning. The first was in Sunridge Park, where there was an apparent suicide. Investigators are looking into the death. The second was in Alpine County, where a man was found in his car near Carson River Road. If there's something more about either case, we'll report it.

They also arrested several people at an address in Indian Hills. It sounds like a burglary ring, but we've yet to get the official word from the authorities. When we find out, you'll find out.

Today will be the last day of nice weather for a bit, as a storm is expected to hit on Thursday. The National Weather Service is calling for a 40 percent chance of rain on Friday, lowering on Halloween night, then increasing to 50 percent of Saturday. Might be a good Halloween to go as a Scuba diver, whaler, or something else water repellant.
