Interim County Manager T. Michael Brown could get a shorter title if Douglas County commissioners agree on Thursday.
If appointed county manager, Brown would serve a two-year contract starting at $125,000 a year.
Brown has worked for Douglas County for more than 11 years, most recently as assistant county manager.
In March, he was appointed interim manager after sitting manager Dan Holler resigned for an administrative job in Grass Valley, Calif.
Brown has a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's in business administration.
Commissioners will also likely appoint a new county recorder, choosing from seven candidates.
Recorder Werner Christen, retired after 30 years with the county. He recommended Chief Deputy Recorder Erin Inman for the job.
The county recorder is responsible for organizing and preserving county documents. The position starts at $71,650 a year.
The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the county administration building, 1616 Eighth St. in Minden.
