Medical personnel are at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Highway 395 just west of Carson Valley Middle School.
One of the vehicles struck the other from behind causing substantial damage. Firefighters said people were still in their vehicles, but did not require extrication.
One person is being evaluated by medics in the accident, which is causing traffic to back up.
The middle school just let out, so there are lots of traffic to snarl.
