Updates on former Tiger standouts

Shawn Estes, P, San Diego Padres: Estes was scheduled to start for the Padres Thursday against the Brewers. It was to be his first appearance back after fracturing his thumb May 29. He most recently threw six shutout innings against Salt Lake for Triple-A Portlant on Aug. 26. He struck out two and walked three.

Bryan Miller, OF, Washington Nationals (Single-A Hagerstown): Miller doubled in a game against Lakewood Aug. 28 and had a hit against Lake County Monday. He is batting .179 in 27 games with Hagerstown.

Andy McIntosh, sr., WR, Nevada: McIntosh played, but didn't record any stats in a 49-13 win over Grambling state.

Jeff Nady, fr., OL, Nevada: Redshirting. Nevada beat Grambling State 49-13 .

Billy Coats, fr., LS, Navy: Redshirting at U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School. Navy beat Towson 41-13 over the weekend.

Jake Peterson, sr., LB, Pennsylvania: Season opens Sept. 20 vs. Villanova.

Brent Koontz, Rfr., LB, Southern Oregon: Beat No. 21 Montana Tech 30-25.

Brock Peterson, fr., RB, Linfield: Season opens Sept. 13 at Hardin-Simmons.

James Lanier, fr., FB, Mendocino College: Season opens Sept. 6 at Hartnell.

Morgan LeFever, fr., M, Academy of Arts: The Urban Knights fell to Humboldt Staet 2-0 and lost to Chico State 1-0. LeFever had the team's only shot in the Chico match.

Chase Zumpft, soph., GK, Oakland City: Oakland City lost to Missouri-St. Louis and Quincy to open the year.

Jessi Chitwood, soph., D, Oakland City: The Lady Oaks fell to Southwest Baptist 11-0 last week.

Rachel Van Roy, soph., M, Cascade College: Cascade lost to Great Falls 1-0 in overtime to open the year.

Monica Knight, jr., Hofstra: Hofstra bounced back from an opening loss to Fairfield to beat Siena and Seton Hall. Knight had 28 kills in the three matches to go with 10 assists, two service aces, 34 digs and a block.

Colleen Carlson, soph., San Diego: San Diego beat Albany, UC Irvine and San Diego State to open the year.

Lauren Kelly, jr., Nevada: Nevada went 1-2 in the Notre Dame Invitational. Kelly had 22 digs, two assists and a block in the tournament.

Whitney Estes, jr., Grand Canyon: Grand Canyon lost its first three mathes before defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills. Estes had 16 kills to go with two assists, five digs and four blocks.

Cayla Knapp, jr., Arkansas-Monticello: Arkansas-Monticello won four of its first five matches.

Dawson Joyce-Mendive, soph., Tufts: Season opens Sept. 9 vs. Stonehill.

Alex Risko, soph., Golden West Community College: Season opened this week at home against the College of the Desert.
