New Sunridge library branch

The Douglas County Public Library has a new satellite branch at the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts Sunridge station 12, 3620 North Sunridge Drive in north Douglas County.

Library patrons can now return library items in the book drop at the south side of the building. Also available is access to the library's catalog and online reference tools and magazine and paperback book exchange. Information at douglas.lib.nv.us or 782-9841.


Elks flea market today, Saturday

The Elks host a flea market, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Saturday, at the Elks Lodge, 1276 Pit Road, Suite C, in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Among the items featured in the sale are books, craft supplies, kitchenware, sweaters, furniture, holiday decor and items from St. Gall Catholic Church's rummage sale. Last movie

in the park today

The Town of Gardnerville's last movie in the park of the summer is Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" at dusk today in Heritage Park.

Bring a blanket, sand chairs and bug repellent to watch movies under the stars. Pack a picnic or enjoy treats offered by Carson Valley Lions Club and Boy Scout Troop 411, Coldstone Creamery, Papa Murphy's Take 'N Bake Pizza and Subway.

Merrill Gardens art show Saturday

Merrill Gardens annual Garden House Art Show is 1-3 p.m. Saturday at 1565 A Virginia Ranch Road, Gardnerville. Artwork is available for sale, raffles and silent auction. Proceeds benefit Team Merrill Gardens in the Sept. 20 Alzheimer's Association Capital City Memory Walk. Information, 782-3100.

Museum lecture Thursday
