Dealer's Choice performs at Candy Dance

The Dealer's Choice band will perform live dance music at the 2008 Candy Dance Dinner Dance, 4-10 p.m. Sept. 27, at the Orchard House, on the corner of Carson and Main streets in Genoa.

Originally from Gardnerville, Dealer's Choice has performed at Topaz Lodge, Dini's Lucky Club in Yerington, MJ's Sports Bar in Carson City and Buckaroo's in Gardnerville. Dealer's Choice specializes in dance music, playing country songs, along with classic rock and pop. The band members are:

Michael Wilde on rhythm and lead guitar and vocals has more than two decades of musical experience from performing in Canada, Alaska and many other states.

Folk artist Pati Smith-Wilde on vocals and keyboard has performed in Northern Nevada since the early 1980s.

Kevin Hayes on drums and vocals. A native of New York, Hayes graduated from Long Island University with a bachelors degree in music. He has worked in clubs and casinos in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and has opened for the Neville Brothers at the 1992 New Orleans Mardi Gras and played with Star Search winner Jenny Jones.

Don Helwig on bass guitar and vocals. Helwig has 20 years experience playing clubs in the San Francisco Bay area and the Pacific Northwest.

The doors and no-host bar open at 4 p.m. with dinner served at 5 p.m. The dinner is catered by Mom & Pop's Catering of Carson City. The menu includes barbecued tri-tip, barbecued or honey-glazed chicken, coleslaw, potatoes au gratin, rolls and dessert. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Dinner dance tickets will be sold in advance until Sept. 22 and are on sale at the Genoa Town Office, the Dancing Deer and Tahoe Ridge Winery in Genoa, Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority and the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger. Dance-only tickets are $15 and will be sold in advance and at the door. All tickets are non-refundable.

Tickets are available by mail by contacting the Genoa Town Office, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 782-8696.
