Art displayed at college

Carson Valley Art Association artists display 28 paintings and photos in the central hall of Western Nevada College Douglas, 1680 Bently Parkway in Minden. The work may be viewed by the public Monday through Friday until Sept. 30. Information, Ron Clarke, 782-8035.


Fall Foliage exhibit

Artist receives award

Charles Muench's painting "The Sentinel" was awarded the Collectors Choice Award at the Maynard Dixon Country 2008 Exhibition in Mt. Carmel, Utah. The award includes a prize of $3,000. The Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts hosts the Maynard Dixon Country art show, a gathering and sale of work by about 40 American painters every August.

Muench's art is displayed at Lone Tree Gallery, 1598 Esmeralda Ave., Minden.

Markleeville art studios tour

Markleeville artists open their studios to the public in celebration of the changing season in the sixth annual Markleeville Artists Autumn Open Studios, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5.
