Sunday, Sept. 7, was a beautiful day for an outdoor service and picnic held by Trinity Lutheran Church. Congregation members gathered at Ferris Park. Hot dogs and hamburgers were enjoyed by all. One of the most important parts of the afternoon was a dunk tank fundraising event for Elizabeth Vineis. Elizabeth, a student at Sierra Lutheran High School, was badly injured in an auto accident. Pastor Eric Borchers and several teachers from Sierra Lutheran High School, among others, volunteered to get dunked. Children and adults alike contributed for a chance to Make a Big Splash for Elizabeth. Trinity Care in Congregations funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is supplementing the funds. Families from Trinity Child Care Center and Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church also participated. It was a great way to help out someone in our community. If you would like to help, you may make a contribution to account #501000710803 at Bank of America.
