The Douglas High boys' tennis team picked up its first win of the year Tuesday with a 10-8 victory over Wooster in Minden.
Freshman phenom James TenBroeck, fresh off competing at the junior national championships in Palo Alto, Calif., breezed through his three sets by identical 6-0 scores with wins over Nick Kovaltchouk, Jon Beasly and Chris Wright. TenBroeck improved to 12-0 on the year.
Fellow freshman Craig Stratton saw his first singles action of the year and picked up a 6-4 win over Beasley.
Spike Neri and Garon Athanacio teamed up to go 2-1 on the day in doubles, and Marshall Jessup and Tim Doran went 2-0.
Kevin Sacherman and Andrew Solomon picked up a win as a team and Sacherman and Derek Bolstad had a win as a team to wrap up Douglas' scoring on the day.
